I realized at some point this past week that I had not posted that I was going to go on a trip. Of course I had no internet access for kind of a while...I missed it, but not as much as I thought I would. In any case, I am now in Japan (again). I am dreading carrying the manga I bought (I swore I would not buy too much this trip, but my shoulders are telling me something different!) back to Shinjuku from Ikebukuro. Ugh. The internet cafe is HOT.

But one cool thing is that there will be a Book Off next to the Ikebukuro Tokyu Hands! It is opening 11/20 so I will miss it, but having another place to find used books nearby should come in handy in the future. XD

BTW, I HIGHLY recommend never ever ever staying at Kadoya Hotel in Shinjuku. NEVER. It is dingy. Double ugh.

A BOOK-OFF right there!? That's so cool! Enjoy your trip!
(It's very hard to resist temptation to buy more than we can carry around that area...)

Ohh, having a Book Off right there will really be nice. Have fun shopping, but beware of manga welts! (Not buying much in Japan is like physically impossible!)

*laughs* I managed to go without manga welts partly because I didn't go nuts with the manga but also because I brought my own reusable bag that I could sling on my shoulder. Saved me some sore hands!

Wow, have a ball while you're there! Good luck with the shopping; I recommend one of those little critters that helps hold heavy manga bags (it's like a hook you put under the carry loops of the bag). More to the point, good luck at the post office and/or the airport. ^_^

Looking forward to pics and reports after the trip!

Thanks! I had a reusable bag that I could carry on my shoulder, so it was all good. I didn't mail anything, but ended up paying extra for one suitcase. JAL had lowered the allowable weight on flights to/from the US!
