I didn't realize Voice or Noise volume 3 was out! Got it, read it, and was kind of annoyed by it.
1. WTF NEW CHARACTER!?! Who is at first just plain weird (and yucky) then kind of cute, but at the end is revealed to potentially be an ass or something? He's just...in the way. Of the sex. Which leads me to...
2. WTF IS WRONG WITH NARUSAWA?!? He's not impotent. He has a willing nubile young thing (whom he seems to be romantically interested in) desperate to fall into his bed, and he doesn't do much! Even when they're alone! I want to know what makes the dude tick because he's just aggravatingly odd.
3. On the happy side, I do like Shinichiro very much. He's so cute! I actually bothered to read the author's notes and laughed at how people wondered if Shinichiro is actually supposed to be seme but the author explains that he's actually one of those ukes who want to make the seme pant and moan but doesn't have the ability/guts to do it. XDXD
4. I don't understand where this manga is going. I was annoyed that Narusawa abruptly went overseas FOR THREE YEARS, but this relationship-stall on top of that is maddening. I think Shinichiro (and the readers) are owed some major passion from Narusawa--be it in words or in action, or (preferably) both.
Are there any new chapters out? I need more development than this damn volume provided. ;_;
Like I've said before, Yamimaru Enjin's art might be gorgeous but her stories and characters need help. I also read Kimi ga inakerya iki mo dekinai ("I can't even breathe without you") recently and couldn't muster any ounce of caring for the characters. I know it's partly because I'm not fond of the "character who is completely incapable of taking care of themselves and totally needs a nanny" x "the nanny" type stories....but still.
Oh well. Pretty cover on Voice or Noise. XD; The colors are just lovely...
i'm following this one, too. love her art, but 3 volumes and hardly any progress...haha.
there must be new chapters, since i see that it's still running in the magazine, but i don't see scans ever popping up anywhere. :(
I'm not dying for new chapters but it'd be nice to see if anything actually happens...
I think Narusawa must have some feelings of guilt or something ("Oh noes, I'm corrupting this young kid!")? But honestly, more than that, I was annoyed by 1. the new character (who I find annoying whether he's stupid and nice or smart and evil) and 2. the fact that they felt like they needed to hide their relationship from him. ARGH.
It's a good thing...how is アフト spelled? Acht?...is so adorable, he definitely helped distract me from being too annoyed. (I LOVED him in the first chapter, when he was prancing around yelling "ごほうび!")
Also, to be fair to Yamimaru Enjin, Kimi ga Inakerya was based on a novel, so she didn't create those characters. (It's funny, normally I don't like the "nanny" thing, either, but for some reason that one worked for me.)
Yeah, new guy is irritating but more than that he seems useless (besides helping prevent teh sex that totally should've happened in this volume). Hope he serves some useful purpose since he'll be sticking around.
Yes, cat is cute. So cute! I love his comments about Shinichiro when he's so happy that Narusawa and he did something beyond a kiss.
Ah, I didn't know "Kimi ga..." was a novel. Sadly, I've noticed that artists who fail at storytelling end up illustrating (or manga-izing) novels that also fail at storytelling...
I think what got to me was that the uke has long hair. It's one of those personal pet peeves of mine. I think I overloaded on the delicate flower associations with long haired beautiful ukes...
Heh, that's funny since I think the long hair was just supposed to show us that he was lazy and unkempt.
I think I just find it hilarious that their relationship is essentially:
uke: I WANT PANCAKES
seme: I WILL MAKE YOU PANCAKES BECAUSE I'M TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH YOU
uke: I LOVE YOU BECAUSE YOU MAKE ME PANCAKES
I mean, the little epilogue at the end CLEARLY shows us that their relationship is trading sex for pancakes and they're both totally okay with that.
(I've probably shot myself in the foot by writing this, because the sequel just came out, so now I'm going to read it and there will be NO PANCAKES and it's going to break my heart.)
