bleach everything in hot water or else you'll die from (insert your favorite scary germ)!!! [Aug. 2nd, 2009|08:05 pm]

Remember the big purses suck (but not backpacks and other types of personal stuff-toting gear that men may use) and women should use clutches to cut down on "clutter" blog post I mentioned a long time ago? No? Oh well....In any case, I came across another one of those WTF? blog posts where the comments made me laugh and feel that there is hope for the world. This one is titled 9 Dangerous Home Habits on a home design blog called Apartment Therapy (I love the House Tours, to see what Real People do to make their houses look awesome, as opposed to the sterile environments I see too often in magazines). I clicked on it wondering what the Dangerous Habits could be, and was annoyed at the actual advice. Most of it just ridiculous overkill, and it irritates me in the way anti-bacterial everything irritates me. Also, very wasteful and environmentally detrimental. Then I started reading the comments. And laughed. Even at the people who actually washed each towel after one use.

I have never heard of this site... but I can see myself checking it a bit further (after all the fun I had reading the article you linked to... and even more with the comments!!!) That person who wrote the article would feel my house the epitome of dirty -- it's clean BUT I do not use hot water for my clothes, reuse towels a lot (it's only drying something that has been washed clean already, after all!), don't microwave sponges (I don't use them -- I use dish cloth and change them often) and very rarely use bleach... funny thing though is that my immune system is rather good so I guess the germs have not been able to kill me yet!).

I think most people don't live with such advice, and live pretty healthily. Hope you enjoy the rest of the site. XD
