Suteneko no karute by Halco is a very conventional manga with pretty art that is made awesome by the addition of a cat. There are three stories in the manga, the first about a gay guy who runs into a straight guy taking care of a stray cat in a park used by gays for hook-ups, the second about a salaryman who is mistaken for another guy by the other guy's ex-boyfriend, the third about a student who bums over at a teacher's house. They are all sweet stories, but none of them are outstanding. They are...inoffensive. Fluffy. Pointless. Not bad. The reasons I'd recommend this book are a) the art is nice, b) there is a cat in the first story, and c) the afterward.

My favorite scene:

The (formerly stray) cat scratches gay guy in bed and (formerly) straight guy claims the cat is very sorry. Gay guy doesn't buy it, looking at cat's expression. XD

The afterward:

Q: A question for everyone who owns cats. How did you come to own a cat?
Answer
A-san's case: I saw (the cat) in the pet shop. When our eyes met I knew this was the one...
B-san's case: My friend's cat gave birth. I was only going over to the house to look, but when I realized it...
In my case: When I came out of the bath, (the cat) was there.
Cat: ...
The artist with towel on head: May I ask who you are?

I would so buy that just for the Lying Cat scene. ^__^

Also, the neighborhood stray cats totally try to sneak into my house if I forget and leave the cat door open. It freaks Ptolemy out. They don't sleep on the bed, though.

Wow, your neighborhood cats are aggressive! The cats in my old neighborhood gradually became "ours" because we'd end up feeding them, but they NEVER tried coming inside.

Ahaha XD i love that little part at the end. So funny ♥

I love her art too. I'm always amazed by people who start out as doujinka, and because I was able to read and like her Kakashi/Iruka doujinshi even if I wasn't a fan of the pairing (or any pairing, for that matter XD).

I didn't know this artist started off doing doujinshi! Not surprising, though, considering quite a number seem to become pros after doing fan stuff. And since I've never read Kakashi/Iruka I wouldn't have come across her work.

I wonder if you know already, but it looks like it's going to have a drama cd ♥

It's by Intercommunications too (the same company that did Utsukushii koto and a bunch of other nice drama cds) so I'm hoping they do a good job on this one. :D
