Suteneko no karute by Halco is a very conventional manga with pretty art that is made awesome by the addition of a cat. There are three stories in the manga, the first about a gay guy who runs into a straight guy taking care of a stray cat in a park used by gays for hook-ups, the second about a salaryman who is mistaken for another guy by the other guy's ex-boyfriend, the third about a student who bums over at a teacher's house. They are all sweet stories, but none of them are outstanding. They are...inoffensive. Fluffy. Pointless. Not bad. The reasons I'd recommend this book are a) the art is nice, b) there is a cat in the first story, and c) the afterward.
My favorite scene:
The (formerly stray) cat scratches gay guy in bed and (formerly) straight guy claims the cat is very sorry. Gay guy doesn't buy it, looking at cat's expression. XD
Q: A question for everyone who owns cats. How did you come to own a cat?
A-san's case: I saw (the cat) in the pet shop. When our eyes met I knew this was the one...
B-san's case: My friend's cat gave birth. I was only going over to the house to look, but when I realized it...
In my case: When I came out of the bath, (the cat) was there.
The artist with towel on head: May I ask who you are?
