|sekai ichi hatsukoi episode 12

I wanted to excuse the lateness of this post to computer problems (which I totally have--my laptop basically overheats in about half an hour to maybe an hour...it's hard to work in half-hour chunks), but mostly I didn't get around to it because it just wasn't as awesome as episode 11 and I didn't want to face that fact that the anime was over. ;_;
I ended up screen-capping way too many close ups of Ritsu like the one above (and somewhat to a lesser extent Takano), a bunch of which I just deleted. It didn't help that I looked back at the screen-caps and couldn't figure out where they occurred in the episode! But I liked the expressions in the close-ups...
I kept forgetting to mention how much I like the scene in the opening sequence where the musical climax occurs, where Takano grabs Ritsu and is about to kiss him (but doesn't quite).
And how the last scene in the opening sequence has Takano knocking their foreheads together. It's so sweet!
Yokozawa getting to look good! Too bad I want to spork him! Sometimes looking good just doesn't make up for being an ass.
There are a lot of squishy moments in this episode! Those were the best, sadly. Not like episode 11 where the romantic and sweet moments were totally the highlight.
I loved Takano's irritated "HUH?!?" at Ritsu's avoidance of him. He's so amusingly grumpy when it comes to work. Also, I love that shirt collar on him.
Poor Ritsu, so awkward.
Even more awkwardness! He so fails at getting things his way. A smoother person would be able to naturally get someone out of his house to take a call, ya know? But then, Takano is pretty bad when it comes to social cues, so maybe not...
I think what this episode got right is showing Ritsu really connect to being a shoujo manga editor when he is praised by the artist. I love how he thinks, god I'm such a simple sucker, getting all worked up by such flattery, even as he is totally moved.
I have no idea why I took this cap. XD;
Takano looking cool! I meant to get a cap of him leaning against the door. He looked good. But I loved the straight talk that is his version of a pep talk. He doesn't encourage, he just tells it as he sees it. I wonder how many people failed because they couldn't measure up or handle being around Takano?
Actually, I wonder how many people were crushed by Takano romantically? I mean, not everyone is as tough as Yokozawa or Ritsu (who is a wonderful mix of tough and vulnerable).
Love this scene! Takano: Chi. Ritsu: ?? Takano: Chi. I love how he doesn't do a complete sentence, just saying "blood" a couple of times.
Takano pulling along an unwilling Ritsu! Story of the manga!
Ritsu wants to lock Takano out, but we know he can't because he's blushing like mad.
I kept thinking silly thoughts like "oooh, this is representing Ritsu wanting to 'lock' Takano out of his heart as well as out of his house" and mocking myself for thinking such thoughts.
Story of the manga! Ritsu fails! He lets Takano in!
Another pointless close-up. So cute! Normally he's so "I can do anything! I'm tough!" but then he gets all undone....No wonder Takano can't stay away.
No words needed, right? Poor Takano, no sex for you! I was amused by how much they toned down the sex in the anime. I think the one thing you lose when you cut out a lot of the sex is the contrast between the urgent, confused, frantic sex scenes and everything else. I think you really feel Ritsu's confusion and Takano's need in the sex scenes.
If they do another season (PLEASE HAVE ANOTHER SEASON) how will they handle the uber-important sex scene that Ritsu forgets? Fade to black? But they have to have Ritsu say "Sempai" and Takano say "Ritsu" in response! It's such a sweet moment!
I didn't like the shoujo manga treatment of this scene, though I suppose they followed the manga...It's just too abrupt in going to a white background with wind and petals blowing.
This has been bothering me from the manga: What the hell did Takano whisper in Ritsu's ear? Did I miss this somewhere?
Please ignore the control bar. I realized it later and didn't want to retake the screen-cap...
Yet another hilarious squishy face scene.
Again, ignore the control bar. The media player stops working right when the computer gets fairly hot...
I think they did a decent job in bring this to an end, even though as an avid manga fan it felt too short. I just wish the emotional highlight didn't happen in episode 11 as it made this episode feel...reduced. Does that make any sense?
